"Reply to: sale-204642311@craigslist.orgDate: 2006-09-08, 10:37AM PDTREAD THOROUGHLY BEFORE CALLING, I WILL NOT ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS ON THE PHONE THAT ARE COVERED IN THIS POSTING. MAKE A NOTE OF WHERE THE CAR IS, THE YEAR OF THE CAR, THE MODEL OF THE CAR, THE FACT THAT YOU NEED A FLAT BED, AND THAT IT IS FREE
BEFORE YOU CALL!!!! Purchased to convert to biodiesel, decided it wasn't worth it between my lack of mechanical knowledge, the difficulty of that particular engine and the size of the car, so now I'm giving it away. It is totally legal, as in walked into the DMV to make sure it was totally legal ... have all current paperwork, including sticker. Body is cream. In fairly good shape. Car hasn't been started in over a year, smoked badly then. Was told that it has to be towed on a flatbed, I think it has something to do with the alignment. I will be wrecking this car if I cannot find someone to take it. I will be with the car today. CALL ME, do NOT email me, I do not have email access where the car is stored. 415-724-1658 Please note that I am not a mechanic. Everything above is what I know about the car, i literally will not be able to answer any other questions about the car, so please do not ask. Please also note that the car is free, and you should have expectations along the 'hey, it's free, whattya want?' lines. If you're getting a no bullshit vibe from me, you are properly attuned. I want this car gone today, with no to minimal crap. "

"This vehicle would be perfect for you if: "

"* Your car or truck just died, and you need a cheap vehicle NOW * You're a landscaper, painter, etc and you just need a big vehicle to get you through the season * You've got a big drooling St Bernard and don't want it in your ferrari * You're a college kid who wants to take one last joy ride with all your buddies to the coast before school starts * You live outside Multnomah County, you're real good with cars, and don't need to pass DEQ * You're wanted by the law and you gotta cross the state line by midnight"

Check that Vette hatchback windshield!

"
1979 Alluminum Prototype - 1500
I've not had the time or resources to complete this car. It was designed by Seymore Watley, who was an engineer for the GT-40 and other Ford race cars. He passed away shortly after designing this car at his home. The body is aircraft-grade alluminum. The alluminum is riveted to 1/4" square metal ribcage. I replaced the rusted 1965 pan with the current 1966 pan. The motor is 1600, and the transaxle is 1968. Rear wheels are VW 15" and the front are Porche 12". New front tires. The windshield is from a 1980 Corvette, and the vents are Stingray. The car's designer lived close by when I was young. The car sat for 20+ years without interest. I found it in my current home town 8 years ago. I bought it and have been maintaining it since. His autograph is scribed into the bottom of a headlight bucket. And his son, who helped build it, is written on the other. It was origionally painted red, even the Stingray vents. Titled once in 1980, 'The Red Car' was car of the year at the son's high school. It boasted a Corvair motor and was popular for outrunning the fuzz. This would make an incredible kitcar. Buyer will have to arrange and pay for delivery or pick up. Email me with questions, and leave a number if you are serious. This is an origional design! I have done recent work on the front fenders. And now the hood is hinged, which is nice to access the steering components. The front shocks have been replaced with Mercedes 190E shocks. "
